Animal Feed

Food waste, particularly from supermarkets and similar commercial operators, is often separated into two streams: fresh produce and bakery waste. Why is this important? Because bakery waste can be more valuable when used in isolation for animal feed.

Whilst bakery waste delivers relatively good yields as feedstock for anaerobic digestion, it is actually perhaps wasted (pardon the pun) in this regard – often being blended with other produce to help stabilise the digestion process or having water added to make it suitable, at added cost.

And with depackaging machines that use hammermill technology, this is often the end of the story, with the process being too aggressive for alternative options. But with the Dominator Depackaging machine, you can unlock the option of animal feed, which in turn can command greater value when sold to animal feed manufacturers.

Food for thought?
